The Protomen - Act II: The Father of Death mp3 flac
I own none of this music. All of it is performed by the Protomen
It was a surreal experience, and one which I will remember quite fondly. MtheK What a journey it has been so far. Act II continues to do everything right, from a great narration to music that really just grabs you by the hands and leads you through a nightly city towards the light. Jam list: 1. Intermission 2. Here Comes the Arm Lyrics. About Act II: The Father Of Death. Act II: The Father of Death is the second album by indie rock band The Protomen, and the follow-up to the band’s self-titled debut. The album also revisits the Mega Man-inspired rock opera concept from the band’s first album, and functions as a prequel to the first release, focusing on the relationship between Thomas Light and Albert Wily before Wily’s takeover of the city that functions as the story’s primary setting. The Protomen, colloquially referred to by fans in retrospect as Act I, is the debut album release by indie rock band The Protomen. It is a rock opera loosely based on the Mega Man video game series, and the first volume of a planned trilogy of albums on this theme. The follow-up, Act II: The Father of Death, a prequel to The Protomen, was released on September 8, 2009.
2 Act II: The Father of Death. The Protomen Present: A Night of Queen. The Cover Up: Original Soundtrack From the Motion Picture. 2 Musical style and influences. In the band's first album, Dr. Wily is represented as an Orwellian ruler over a dystopic city, full of humans who are too scared to stand up to his control. Dr. Light creates a "perfect man, an unbeatable machine", Proto Man, to fight to free the City, but Proto Man is destroyed by the overwhelming power of Wily's armies.
I love the Protomen! Father Of Death acts as a prequel to the first album; the story of how everything came to be. The story is just as dark and beautiful as the first. Act II goes back in time and tells about the relationship between Wiley and Light before the world hard turned dark. The album's jazzy and lighter rock sound are meant to be evocative of this happier time that slowly turns dark. I am no musicologist but I found it to be a bit over-produced compared with rawer sound of Act I that I fell in love with. In Act I the story of the world is only hinted at, Act II spells it out in almost too much detail.
