Shihad are a rock band from New Zealand, formed in 1988. The band consists of Jon Toogood (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Phil Knight (lead guitar, synthesiser, backing vocals), Karl Kippenberger (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Tom Larkin (drums, backing vocals, samplers). The band was known as Pacifier between 2001 and 2004.
Pacifier is the fifth full-length album released by New Zealand band, Shihad. At the time of the release they were performing under the name Pacifier due to potential controversy surrounding the similarity of the word Shihad to jihad. The name Pacifier was derived from the single of the same name from their previous album, The General Electric. Released in 2002, tracks such as "Run" and "Bullitproof" went on to become hit singles.
This song is by Pacifier and appears on the album Killjoy (1994) by Shihad and on the album Live (2003). Wrapped up. Spat out in your self doubtShould I rip my heart outPack it up and send it to youThings said in angerSaid for gainSaid to cut downI'll never hear againWell a part of me sees it all too clearBut another part still burnsFor the safety, for the comfortBut our hate outgrew our love and ate it.
Shihad is the third full-length album released by New Zealand band, Shihad. Released in New Zealand in September 1996 on the Wildside Records label, it is sometimes known as "the fish album" - a reference to the fish that feature in the album's artwork. The album was dedicated to the memory of the band's manager and friend, Gerald Dwyer, who had died earlier that year. The album was recorded at York Street Studios, Auckland, New Zealand and produced & engineered by Malcolm Welsford
