With it's many title. Smashing Pumpkins: Twilight to Starlight. Many have debated about the 1995 release of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness as either a single long album or a double album. With it's many titles from different versions, i wanted to portray the CD and Vinyl release which includes Dawn to Dusk and Twilight to Starlight. I know this one is simply adding text in the bottom corner, but i used this one in particular for a guideline for Dawn to Dusk. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness 2:2. Honest opinions please.
Smashing Pumpkins promoted the album heavily well into 2008, but at the end of the year, Corgan announced that the group would no longer record albums, and would instead only issue singles. It wasn't the only change in the band. Corgan announced the departure of Chamberlin in March 2009, making him the last remaining original member of the band that by then consisted of guitarist Jeff Schroeder, bassist Nicole Fiorentino, and drummer Mike Byrne.

It was the first album The Smashing Pumpkins released after their 2000 disbandment and 2005 reunion. The album was produced by Roy Thomas Baker, Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlin, and Terry Date. The album would be Chamberlin's last with the band before his departure in 2009. The album debuted strongly, but sales soon decreased, and critical reception was mixed . The mindset of the record was to put our best foot forward and not get too artsy. We wanted to try to create a body of work that was concentrated enough to bring back a fan base and invigorate a new fan base.

Smashing Pumpkins took it upon themselves to make a record that only teenagers could love and for many it was the only one they needed. This mega-deluxe box set pads the original with an additional 64 tracks. Finally, I thought, here was our White Album, Physical Graffiti, or The Wall, but we could watch its legend being constructed in real time without all the received wisdom. It's true, a double album reeks of 70s-style excess that tries to edify its creators. It was meant as Smashing Pumpkins' monument to itself
