No Control is the fourth album by American punk rock band Bad Religion, released on November 2, 1989 through Epitaph Records. Bad Religion began work on the album while touring in support of its previous album, Suffer (1988). No Control is stylistically faster than its predecessor, owing more to hardcore punk. Additionally, it was the first Bad Religion album not to feature a lineup change from after one consecutive studio album.

Produced by Pete Finestone, Brett Gurewitz, Jay Bentley & 2 more. Culture was the seed of proliferation but it's gotten melded Into an inharmonic whole, to an inharmonic whole Consciousness has plagued us and we cannot shake it Though we think we're in control, though we think we're in control. Questions that besiege us in life are testament of our helplessness.

I agree with Casar1973--this is Bad Religion at the absolute top of their game! Such an amazing album here. In fairness, I often refer to the period comprising the releases of Suffer, No Control, and Against the Grain as the best time segment in BR's discography, but again, No Control probably takes top prize for me among those three albums. And as Casar1973 says, the harmonic and lyrical aspects of this album are the real points of g ideas presented within a melodic (though still powerful) punk-rock setting. Genius material! 답글 나에게 알림 2 Helpful.

Bad Religion (at the time of this album): Vocals- Greg Graffin Lead Guitar- Mr Brett Rhythm Guitar- Greg Hetson Bass- Jay Bentley Drums- Pete Finestone. Change Of Ideas (0:55): The banging of the drums, begins this album, and the listener is thrown straight into the furious sound of Change Of Ideas. Clocking in at under a minute, many would wonder how this time frame could contain a song. This is answered, as the song contains all the makings of a good song, killer melodies, a good beat, and a great chorus. No Control (1:47): This song starts with the similar drum beat that all punk fans are used to, but changes during the verses. The chorus to this song contains some great vocal melodies that mix in well the guitars. Towards the end of the song, the song slows down to a drum roll, then straight after this bursts straight back into a chorus, and some great vocal melodies present themselves to the listener.

Dreadfully brickwalled remaster, avoid! Stick with the original or the vinyl pressing.

My favorite BR album. So glad to get this on the Pink Translucent vinyl. Sounds great!

Great album and for the record the 1989 release had a dynamic range of 12 whereas the 2004 re-issue had a terrible DR of 6!

As far as I am concerned I consider this as probably my fav punk rock album of all time. Everything that made BR great is condensed in a fast paced and effective punk rock delivery with strong emphasis on melody and harmony - which became a trademark of BR´s sound - as well as the thoughtful and highly intellectual lyrics. Although they reached mass success with later albums with pretty much the same concept I still hold this album as the top of the crop.

Best Bad Religion album ever! That is what I call "total punk rock", although I would rather say, that this is a great example of how rock'and'roll of late '80 should sound. Great lyrics and melody lines. The only "bad" thing about it is that it lasts only 26 minutes... But hey, what is "repeat" in our CD players for? ;) They're singing: With a quick wink of an eye and a "God you must be joking". Well, this time I am not joking :) I strongly recommend this issue to each and every rock fan. I was never really interested with punk rock music, but this CD changed everything. Try, and you won't regret. ps. If you're looking for hot solos and heavy sound - better don't touch this. But if you're really open-minded for something that is just a piece of good music - this album is just waiting for you to discover. Enjoy!
