Bruce Springsteen has scheduled 18 . tour dates in support of his folk album, "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions. Opening May 27 in Boston, the run will follow a previously announced 10-date European tour that gets underway May 5 in Dublin. Promising "an all new evening of gospel, folk and blues," the new dates include visits to several outdoor amphitheatres, not the typical stomping ground for Springsteen, who has typically stuck with arenas and stadiums. These dates were announced Friday and sold-out during the weekend. Springsteen will be backed on tour by the 17-piece Seeger Sessions Band, which appears on the album, due April 25 via Columbia. The group boasts just two musicians associated with his famed E Street Band - his wife Patti Scialfa on vocals and violinist Soozie Tyrell, who has appeared on recent E Street recordings and tours.
