Michael von Albrecht (born 22 August 1933 in Stuttgart) is a German classical scholar and translator, as well as a poet writing in Latin. In 2004 he was granted the Johann-Heinrich-Voß-Preis für Übersetzung. The son of the composer Georg Albrecht first attended the Music Academy in Stuttgart, where he graduated in 1955 after taking the state examination. In Tübingen and Paris, he then studied classical philology and Indology in 1959

Michael von Biel (born 30 June 1939 in Hamburg) is a German composer, cellist, and graphic artist. Von Biel studied piano, theory, and composition in Toronto, New York (with Morton Feldman, amongst others), London (with Cornelius Cardew), and Cologne (with Karlheinz Stockhausen), and with Joseph Beuys at the Düsseldorf Kunstakademie. Since 1966 he has lived in Cologne, where he came into contact with artists of the Fluxus movement.

Michael Friedrich Benedikt Baron von Melas (12 May 1729 – 31 May 1806) was a Transylvanian-born field marshal of Saxon descent for the Austrian Empire during the Napoleonic Wars. He was born in Radeln, Transylvania (nowadays Roadeş, part of Buneşti commune, Romania) in 1729 and joined the Austrian army at age 17. He served in the Seven Years' War as aide de camp for Leopold Josef Graf Daun. He was promoted to colonel in 1781. He fought on the lower Rhine in 1794 and the middle Rhine in 1795.
