On Myron Cohen's second album, It's Not a Question (1967), the comic sustains the same degree of wholesome humor as on his debut long-player, Everybody's Gotta Be Someplace (1966). The Eden Roc resort in Miami Beach works in Cohen's favor, as his uniquely Yiddish perspective lends itself well to the local residents. He is able to correlate experiences and draw from the colorful cast of characters that live in the opening monologue, "Miami and the Senior Citizens.

The Future is the ninth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, released in 1992. After touring successfully in support of his "comeback" album I'm Your Man (1988), Cohen took a year off to help his son Adam convalesce after a serious car accident in the West Indies left the young man in a coma for four months. Cohen also began a romantic relationship with the actress Rebecca De Mornay.

Leonard Cohen's new LP You Want It Darker is probably one of the best albums ever released by a person over the age of 80. It's just part of his astounding career renaissance that began when he returned to the road in 2008 for a stunning tour that lasted five years. The show featured songs from throughout his long career, which began all the way back in 1967 with Songs of Leonard Cohen. His singing voice has changed quite a bit since those days and the music has grown much more sophisticated, but brilliant words have never diminished. Not a lot of people were focused on Leonard Cohen in 2001. He'd pretty much vanished from the public eye following his 1993 tour in support of The Future. He spent a great deal of time at the Mt.

Though it’s not a term Cohen himself associates strongly with his music, there’s a gentle psychedelic lilt to what he does here. It’s the kind of stuff that reminds me of meandering, insular walks on hazily summer days in Cohen’s hometown of Los Angeles. With As If Apart coming out later this week, I called Cohen to talk about what he’s up to these days and the process of making the album. Read the Q&A, and stream the album in full below. COHEN: It’s not really the kind of question I concern myself with - it’s too much like trying to sell a consumer on some new product, and music isn’t even a job for me. It’s just something I do when I have the time for it. I think that the idea of artists always having to reinvent themselve. think it’s a little simplistic. People are always changing, all the time. To me, everything is different about it, but not in a way where it was like, Oh, this is going to be my ‘personal’ album.
