Wells, 'The Sleeper Awakes' is Chatwin's first album to appear under his own name and follows last year's highly-lauded Talvihorros project 'Eaten Alive'. I wanted 'The Sleeper Awakes' to represent the idea of a future that has been and gone.

The Sleeper Awakes (1910) is a dystopian science fiction novel by English writer H. G. Wells, about a man who sleeps for two hundred and three years, waking up in a completely transformed London where he has become the richest man in the world. The main character awakes to see his dreams realised, and the future revealed to him in all its horrors and malformities. The novel is a rewritten version of When the Sleeper Wakes, a story by Wells that was serialised between 1898 and 1899.

Graham's usage of drugs to cure his chronic disease turns out to be a disaster as his sleep never ended till after 203 years. While he awakes, he was shocked to see the transformed world. When the Sleeper Wakes, whose title I have now altered to The SleeperAwakes, was first published as a book in 1899 after a serial appearancein the Graphic and one or two American and colonial periodicals. It isone of the most ambitious and least satisfactory of my books, and I havetaken the opportunity afforded by this reprinting to make a number ofexcisions and alterations.

Originally serialized from 1898 to 1903, Wells later made some crucial changes to the piece to create a flawless dystopian science fiction novel published in 1910 and renamed The Sleeper Awakes. The novel focuses on an Englishman, who falls in a deep sleep lasting two centuries, and sees him wake up in an unrecognizable setting and extremely wealthy. An enthralling tale of dystopian society depicted through a colorful imagination, The Sleeper Awakes concentrates on topics including dystopia, political power, religion, plutocracy, and individual and social awakening  . Very different then what I expected. Wonderful narration throughout the whole book.

The main character awakes to see his dreams realised, and the future revealed to him in all its horrors and malformities.

Wells' dystopian science fiction novels, The Sleeper Awakes deals with a topic we have seen on film so many times: a man falls into a coma as a result of the medication he takes for his insomnia and wakes up 203 years later to a London and a world he doesn't know anymore. Many things have changed since Graham took his sleeping pills.
