The Horrors - Luminous mp3 flac
Luminous is an experiment with layered sound and The Horrors as a band are on a mission to redefine what it means to fill an arena with music. Huge guitars squeal over thick layers of synth chords, strings, loud drums, big basslines and other electronic textures.

Luminous is the fourth studio album by English rock band the Horrors. It was released on 5 May 2014 by record label XL. The album's style has been described as neo-psychedelia, shoegazing and dream pop. In 2014 it was awarded a silver certification from the Independent Music Companies Association, which indicated sales of at least 20,000 copies throughout Europe.
On Luminous, they trade their previous album's daydream-y excursions for something with a little more grit and drive.
The album's highlight comes when "I See You" wiggles free of its '90s indie-disco mooring and shoots at the moon; Luminous could have done with a few more of those moments. 20. The point of psych is that drugs enhance the musical experience, but only 16 hits of trucker speed could focus this droney mess.
The Horrors have never been shy about wearing their influences on their sleeves. Their first album, 2007’s Strange House, was a faithful homage to their garage punk predecessors, opening with a cover of Screaming Lord Sutch’s Jack the Ripper. But on Luminous, he stretches his vocals into higher and more interesting ranges. As a result, much of the disaffected slouch that defined The Horrors’ early output falls away. The earnest, emotive band underneath is easier to connect with emotionally and makes for a more whole-body listening experience. Another characteristic of The Horrors’ marked growth is their increased patience.

Album Of The Week was a straight-up dogfight this week, a brutally even match between two strong competitors. In one corner, there was Lykke Li’s beautifully heart-trampled breakup album I Never Learn, in which Li ditches all her kinda-cute dance-pop tics and goes straight for the emotional jugular
If there’s one thing The Horrors have always been good at, it’s surprising people. With their early singles and first album they did it by playing breakneck garage-punk and dousing audiences in black paint and feathers. With their second LP, they unpredictably turned into respectable sonic innovators – and with their third, they stormed the album chart and even the Radio 1 playlist. Now it’s time for album four, and they’ve done it again. Luminous’ is one of the biggest, tightest, most engrossing records we’ve heard from a British band in years. The band’s songwriting confidence, which ebbed.
